Bear is our special snowflake, first born, smart-ass, intuitive child. We've decided to homeschool her for several reasons including, but not limited to:
- I'm tired of our family only seeing the worst of each other. We love each other and get along, but I'd love to see the people I love most when they are not:
- Super freaking tired from being at school all day long.
- Super freaking tired from being at work all day long.
- Super freaking tired from parenting a three year old all day long.
- Super freaking tired from...being a three year old.

- Bear loves learning...all kids love learning. She's naturally SO curious about EVERYTHING. She asks questions, she thinks about the answers then asks more questions. She is often not satisfied with our answers and delves into reading on her own, or begs us to take her to a real scientist because "I have so many questions"! Honestly, no teacher has time to answer her questions and teach a class of 30 kids.

- Homeschool offers opportunities that she just can't get in public or private school. Field Trips, Hands-on experiments, getting enough sleep, robotics classes, learning to do chores regularly.

- I just want to. I love this kid, and she has such an awesome little mind. I'm excited to watch her learning process. One of the most fun parts of being a parent is watching your kids figure things out and then "get it". From the time they are babies...rolling over, grabbing their feet, crawling, walking, talking, putting a puzzle together, learning to ride a bike, etc...

The entire process can be a bit overwhelming. I've done research for the last couple of years and finally decided to get over my crushing self-doubt and go for it. More on the overwhelmingness (that's a word cause I say so) of it all in the next post.
